Winter hiking in the Ziller valley

Winter hiking trails

A real winter wonderland starts right in front of your chalet!

Traced winter hiking trails to dream about, make your own tracks with snowshoes, … A short afternoon round or a tour to a high summit, … you will find numerous hiking options.
How nice that the Sporer Alm is so conveniently located and you can start tours directly from your chalet!

Wimmertal (Gerlos)

After a short journey by car or public transport, the fairytale-like Wimmertal enchants with a peaceful, romantic and snow-covered mountain backdrop.
The 1-hour hike starts opposite the Gerlos Gmünd reservoir. The path climbs briefly for the first few metres and then leads leisurely towards the Wimmertalalm.

Krauspromenade

Leisurely circular walk near the valley

At the lower station of the Rosenalm cable car (Zillertal Arena), path 2 – the Krauspromenade – begins on the right, slightly ascending.
On the shady forest path you reach the Gerlosbergstraße after approx. 30 minutes, follow this downhill to the Gerlosbergbrücke bridge. After the bridge, turn right along the Gerlosbach (Gerlos stream) back to the starting point.
Duration: approx. 1 1/2 hours

Schwarzachtal

Gerlos-Gmünd

By car or bus, drive in the direction of Gerlos until you reach the “Kühle Rast” inn (district of “Gmünd” still before Gerlos).
Then turn right into the forest car park. This is where you start your leisurely winter hike into the snow-covered Schwarzachtal valley to the Schwarzachtal-Alm – a traditional hut with Tyrolean specialities. You can return either on foot or with a toboggan (for a fee).

Duration: approx. 45 minutes from the car park to the Schwarzachtal-Alm.
